Protein Shake
Arbonne’s protein shakes have quickly became one of my favorite foods!
They are super easy to make, easy on my stomach (ie they don’t make me sick) and taste YUMMY!! Yes, protein shakes can actually taste very good. This is probably the most common feedback I get from people when they try our shakes — “those taste really good!” which is usually followed by “it doesn’t taste chalky like the others.”
I drink at least one shake every day — usually every morning for breakfast. I’ve never been a “breakfast” person so this not only helps me not skip the most important meal of the day but it also provides the necessary vitamins and minerals that I know my body needs to feel good and to be healthy.
I like to add a nut milk to my shake — almond milk, coconut milk, etc. The shakes also taste good with adding water (which is really important when you are traveling!) And there are LOTS of recipes so you can easily tailor these to your taste buds.
I always have an extra shake with me — it’s 2 scoops of protein powder in a shaker cup. I have these for when I’m at work and can’t get away for lunch, for those long afternoons when I get hungry and may be tempted to get something from the vending machine, or for when I’m traveling.
Why I Choose Arbonne over Other Brands
For years, I searched for a protein powder that wouldn’t upset my stomach. I’ve tried brands from Complete Nutrition, GNC, Walmart, Target — you name the brand and I’ve probably tried it. But, they always upset my stomach. I was so frustrated. I wanted that quick “grab and go” breakfast. (I’ve never been a “breakfast person” but I needed something to eat before lunch.) I wanted to have something on hand at work for those days when I didn’t bring my lunch and couldn’t get away for lunch. And, I knew most protein shakes provided the vitamins and nutrients that my body was missing.
And then I tried Arbonne’s protein powder. Now, I was very nervous to try another protein powder … so nervous that I waited until a Saturday when I knew I would be home (and near my bathroom). (I know, TMI, but remember my blog is sharing my experience so that it can help others). I had zero problems digesting the protein shake! I was instantly sold on this brand!
Why is Arbonne’s Protein Powder Different?
For me – it’s 2 main reasons: (1) Arbonne’s strict ingredient policy and (2) their protein powder is made from peas, rice and cranberries.
#1 — Arbonne follows the European Union’s guidelines. The European Union has banned over 1,200 ingredients. Arbonne has taken it a step further and banned an additional 800 ingredients from their products — a total of 2,000+ ingredients!! Arbonne has a very strict ingredient policy and has simply said “it’s not worth the risk” to allow these [questionable] ingredients into products. Arbonne chooses people over profits (what an idea!). Do you know how many ingredients the United States bans? Somewhere between 12 and 15(!!!) HUGE difference there!
So, in a nutshell, there are no artificial ingredients. I truly believe that all these “artificial” and “man made” ingredients that are being added to our foods cannot be recognized by our bodies and our digestive system does not know how to digest them and it is causing sickness and disease. Artificial ingredients are really just cheap fillers added to products to lower costs and increase profits.
#2 — Arbonne’s protein powder is plant based derived from peas, rice and cranberries. Most other brands are whey based. Arbonne is also non-GMO and delivers 20 g of vegan protein with 24 vitamins and minerals and all essential amino acids to help support muscles and daily health.
Arbonne’s protein powder is clinically tested and certified to have a lower glycemic index, which means it won’t cause a spike in blood sugar. (This is awesome news for people with diabetes!) This has also been instrumental in helping me balance my own blood sugar which was actually low — often causing me to feel tired all the time. (Note, if you feel tired all the time, have your blood sugar checked!)
