Have you been given doctor’s orders to change your diet but not sure where to start?
A close friend of mine shared with me this paper that his doctor had given him during his last appointment. While he doesn’t need to lose a lot of weight, his body is starting to show signs of heart disease so he was told he needed to change his diet.
I share this because it’s a really good list to start with. I’m glad to see physicians are providing more information and more details to their patients who need to change their diet. So often, people are told they need to make changes to what they are eating but they aren’t really shown how to make the changes.
The list from the physician is almost 100% in alignment with what we teach in our 30 Days to Healthy Living Program. However, this is only 1 page … it would still be difficult for someone to make changes to their diet with only this information.
I love that because of Arbonne and what I’ve learned through our program, I’m able to look at something like this and offer help to people by providing feedback and additional suggestions.
While it is spot on with its list of foods to avoid, it doesn’t tell you what to replace them with. This is where Arbonne’s 30 Days to Healthy Living program fills in the gap! We have a similar “avoid” list, but we also have a “replace with” list.
For example, yes, you need to avoid the drinks listed. But, the good news is that our program offers replacement drinks such as our very popular fizz! (I’m actually surprised coffee isn’t on the list because it is very acidic and disease thrives in an acidic environment.)
Most of the foods listed are identical to what we teach — however, we provide recipes and snack ideas/recipes of how to incorporate these foods into your diet. I found it interesting there wasn’t really any breakfast options on the list. And, our program offers a list of dine-out options and we provide 1-on-1 coaching to all of our clients.
So, if you’ve been given orders from your doctor to make changes to your diet and you’re not sure where to start, please reach out. I’d love to chat and help you develop a plan that will work for you. Let’s get healthy!
